Answer: Bauxite is also aluminum ore. To obtain aluminum oxide, bauxite is purified, a white powder form in which aluminum can be extracted. Electrolysis is used for extraction.

How is Raw Aluminium Extracted?


Aluminium is obtained by the electrolysis of alumina which extracts pure aluminium metal from alumina. Alumina, or aluminium oxide, is extracted from the bauxite through refining. Alumina is separated from the bauxite by using a hot solution of caustic soda and lime.
