Giuseppe Mazzini was an Italian politician as well as journalist; he was the promoter of a unified Italian state according to him nations were the natural units of men, so Italy had to be forged into a single unified republic, he was the key person who spearheaded the Italian revolutionary movement.

His efforts are significant to bring Italy as independent and unified country from separate states, many dominated by foreign powers during 19th century.

He had played significant role to define the modern European movement for popular democracy in a republican state.

He had established two secret societies which work for the broadcasting his ideas and they are:

  1. Young Italy

  2. Young Europe

Count Camillo de Cavour

Cavour was a chief minister of Sardinia-Piedmont. He was the well-known name during Italy’s unify region movement. He had established the original Liberal Party and has served as prime minister of kingdom of Piedmont Sardinia until the second Italian War of Independence.

He was the first Prime minister of Italy along with this he also has served on key position along with Prime Minister such as Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Navy and before his appointment as Prime Minister Italian Minister of Finance, Kingdom of Sardinia and Agriculture and Commerce.

He died in June 1861 just after three months he joined office as Prime Minister.
