  • The people's opinion of their identities:

    • It is the important factor which decides effect of politics of social divisions.

    • When people see them as singular and exclusive then it definitely led to the social division and violence.

  • Representation of a community by political leaders:

    Social divisions are based on how the political leaders represent a community and raise demands that are constitutional.

  • The government's reaction:

    • Social division is also depends on how government reacts on different communities demands.

    • If ruler share power for reasonable demands then the social division threat become less.

Question 2. When does a social difference become a social division?

Answer:

  • When one particular social difference overlapped by different social differences then it creates situation of social division.

  • For example: The Whites were rich and powerful and the Blacks were poor and homeless and this led to the social division.

  • Whenever social difference take place and become priority it lid to the social division.

  • In other words, a social difference becomes a social division when it connects with other social differences.

Question 3. How do social divisions affect politics? Give two examples.

Answer:

  • When social divisions and politics came together then it leads to the very dangerous situation. In democratic countries political parties have competition but when they use social division along with this, then those social divisions convert into political divisions.

  • The political deviation results conflict and violence and it also can be disintegration of the country. For example: India got divided in two countries.
