  • Earliest people who lived near Narmada were expert collectors.

  • People of Narmada had knowledge regarding the vast wealth of plants in the nearby forests, collected roots, fruits for food and hunted animals.

  • About 8000 years ago first crops such as wheat and barley were grown at Sulaiman band Kirthar hills: (currently known as the Sindh province) and was known for rearing animals.

  • Garo Hills & Vindhya was the Center for agriculture and rice was first grown at the north of the Vindhyas.

  • Civilization of Indus is about 4700 years old and some of the earliest cities flourished on the banks

  • Son, Ganga’s tributary was the center for Magadha Empire and a huge kingdom.
